We have a beautiful facility, and the care we provide for our elderly is outstanding. Now, in an effort to become a more environmentally responsible organization, the Jewish Home at Rockleigh has made a commitment to “Go Green.” This is being accomplished with the implementation of the use of as many “green” products as possible. Both our Maintenance and Housekeeping staffs are working with all of our suppliers in an effort to identify which products we can use that are certified as Green Seal. Green Seal is a non-profit organization which tests and promotes environmentally friendly products.
In the past, users have expressed apprehension on the use of these products as not being on par with the cleaning ability of standard products, but over the years, improvements with these types of products have equaled or exceeded the more traditional cleaning products.
The Jewish Home staff has tested and put into use a number of cleaning products that we are very pleased with and of course the products are safe for the environment, our residents and our staff. We will continue to identify the products that are applicable for our use and continue to be environmentally savvy. Who knows… maybe one day the Jewish Home will utilize an electric bus?
