Jewish Home Family, Inc.
The “Jewish Home Family, Inc.” is something which you will be hearing more and more about in the future. As you know, the Jewish Home has a 92 year history, during which time, has undergone many changes to meet the needs of Hudson and Bergen Counties, NJ, and since 2001, of Rockland County, NY as well. In this time frame we have undergone many name changes as the services offered under our auspices have altered to meet differing needs.
The glue which has kept the organization together has been the Executive Committee of the Jewish Home components. For many years, these devoted Board members have joined me for coffee, every Monday morning at 8:00 a.m., providing their expertise and direction as we have moved forward, while creating first the Jewish Home at Rockleigh, Russ Berrie Home for Jewish Living (JHR), and now the Jewish Home Assisted Living, Kaplen Family Senior Residence (JHAL) in River Vale. This has been an informal committee consisting of the officers of JHRC, JHR, JHF and JHAL, past presidents, and some long-standing members of our Boards.
The time has now come to formalize our organization. With the very able assistance of Ary Freilich, President of the Jewish Home at Rockleigh and with the advice of counsel, Burt Eichler of WolfBlock Brach Eichler, we have incorporated the Jewish Home Family, Inc. as a 501(C)3, non-profit, charitable organization to allow us to move forward. The Jewish Home Family, Inc. will consist of representatives from each of our corporations—JHRC, JHR, JHF, and JHAL, as well as members at large from the community in an effort to broaden the community’s representation in developing new services for the elderly moving forward into the future. This organization’s primary responsibility will be to oversee the financial solvency of the Jewish Home Family and its component organizations. It will also take the leadership in the development of new services going forward.
The Board of Directors of the Jewish Home Family is currently under formation. The officers are:

- Treasurer—Carl Epstein
- Secretary—Sandra Gold
Members at large—under formation at this time.
This is an exciting time in the growth and development of the Jewish Home and we look forward to each being a part of the growth of services for the elderly in Bergen, Hudson and Rockland Counties.
